Acapulco, Guerrero — Cruise ship tourism slowly returns to normal for the popular destination city of Acapulco with the arrival of the Norwegian Star.

With more than 2,200 passengers on board, the cruise ship docked at the port of Acapulco, making it the 18th of the season. The state Ministry of Tourism reported that the ocean liner arrived from Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala and at 6:00 p.m. left for its next destination of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California.

On board the ship Norwegian Star, which arrived under Captain Vanja Litovic, were 2,283 passengers and 1,0 34 crew members. Tourists docking at Acapulco enjoyed land excursions including La Quebrada and viewpoints of the Scenic Avenue and Craft Market, among others.

Authorities of the tourist sectors of the state and municipality have set up a security operation to protect the visitors’ stay.
