Baja Califormia Sur — On Thursday, the National Meteorological Service reported that tropical storm Bud is slowly approaching Baja California Sur.
They stress that the system shows favorable for the potential for heavy rain in Sinaloa , Jalisco, Colima, Durango, Nayarit, Michoacan, Aguascalientes and Guanajuato, as well heavy rain and large waves on the coasts of Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco and Colima.
In the most recent warning issued by the agency, they note that the tropical storm is located 230 kilometers south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.
They report that Bud has sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gusts of 100 kilometers per hour with displacement toward the North-northwest at 11 kilometers per hour.
They also warned that strong storms for Sinaloa, Jalisco, Colima, Durango, Nayarit, Michoacán, Aguascalientes and Guanajuato as well as Baja California Sur and Zacatecas.
Bud is expected to bring with him wind gusts of 50 to 70 kilometers per hour and waves of two to three meters high on the coasts of Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco and Colima.
The National Meteorological Service is asking people in these regions to comply with recommendations by authorities of the National Civil Protection System in each state.
Tropical Storm Bud has already caused severe flooding in other regions including Guanajuato, where Civil Protection has reported extreme flooding.
