Chihuahua City, Chihuahua — The bank BBVA Bancomer reported that they will close their operations at the branch located in Ciudad Madera Chihuahua, a town that is affected by insecurity and organized crime.
BBVA Bancomer sources indicated that the closing date was scheduled for November 24, however it was postponed with the intention that the account holders and authorities seek the best option as soon as possible for a different banking option.
In case the account holders decide to continue with BBVA Bancomer they will have to go to the nearest branch, which is located in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc about 170 kilometers away.
BBVA Bancomer indicated that all the regulatory authorities of the matter were aware of the decision as established by the regulations when they made the announcement public.
This is the first branch of BBVA Bancomer in the country that is closed so far this year due to insecurity.
“The institution decided to close its operations in that locality before having an incident”, sources of the financial institution revealed.
