Acapulco, Guerrero — The body of a female police officer has been found in the popular tourist city of Acapulco.
The State Attorney General’s Office is investigating the murder of an agent of the Ministerial Police, identified only as Monserrat “N”, whose lifeless body was found in the Progreso neighborhood of Acapulco.
Spokesman for the Guerrero Coordination Group, Roberto Álvarez Heredia, said that a few minutes before 8 p.m., police authorities received the report that on Durango Street, the lifeless body of a woman was found with various bullet impacts.
He added that when they arrived at the scene, experts from the Prosecutor’s Office found that the victim had her 9-millimeter caliber handgun around her waist.
Alvarez Heredia said that that vehicle of the victim was found nearby, and that inside which was an AR-15 rifle.
The official pointed out that after the corresponding expert reports were made, the Prosecutor General’s Office proceeded to integrate the investigative folder for the crime of homicide against whoever is responsible, while the body of the agent was taken to the Forensic Medical Service.
The security spokesman said the prosecution regrets the killing of agent Monserrat and expresses heartfelt condolences to his family.
