Coyoacán, Mexico City — A minibus carrying a load of passengers caught fire and began to burn Thursday in the city’s popular area of Coyoacán.
Reports say that employees from a nearby gas station saw the minibus beginning to burn and rushed to help those inside. All the bus’ passengers, including the driver, were safely removed from the unit before it became completely engulfed in flames.
The bus was traveling its usual route from the Eje 3 Oriente on Calzada Taxqueña in Coyoacán when the fire occurred. According to passengers, the walls of the bus began to fill with smoke. That is when they demanded the driver pull over at Paseo de los Jardines in the Colonia de Taxos neighborhood.
Moments later, the entire bus was engulfed in flames.
