Car of presidential candidate Ricardo Anaya attacked

Mexico City, Mexico — The car of presidential candidate, Ricardo Anaya, was attacked Thursday night as it left the Mexico City Airport.

Damián Zepeda, leader of the National Action Party says the vehicle used by the candidate of Por México al Frente, Ricardo Anaya, was attacked after leaving the Mexico City Airport Thursday night.

Zepeda, who accompanied Anaya in the message to the media, explained that the hybrid vehicle was intercepted by another car, from which a man descended and hit the rear windshield. In the face of this aggression, he is blaming the federal government for the lack of safety of the presidential candidate and his family.

Anaya was questioned by the media about whether he would report the attack, but he says he questions the credibility of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). Anaya again blamed President Enrique Peña Nieto for orchestrating a campaign against him and insisted that there is a pact between the president and Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

He said that there could not be an attack on a candidate by the PGR without the president’s instructions and took the opportunity to affirm that the standard-bearer of Morena is pragmatic, “ambitious and vulgar”.

“They initiate these attacks again with stories of lies, of slander, but from here we say with great clarity, with firmness and determination, they will not destroy us. We will not bend, we will move on,” he said.
