Complaints filed against judge who headed PRI case

Mexico City, Mexico — Three criminal complaints have been filed against a judge who headed a case involving theft of an ex-PRI government worker.

Charges have been filed against federal judge Gerardo Moreno García in the case of the former PRI deputy secretary general, Alejandro Gutiérrez Gutiérrez, who was accused of the theft 250 million peso from the Government of Chihuahua.

Moreno García is being accused of acting illegally in the Gutiérrez trial.

In December of 2017, Alejandro Gutiérrez, ex-director of the PRI, was arrested in Mexico City. He was accused of participating in the deviation of 250 million peso during the presidency of César Duarte.

The ex-director of the PRI, during the national leadership of Manlio Fabio Beltrones, has been accused of planning the diversion of resources for which Duarte and several of the former officials of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education, benefited over a six-year period.
