Mexico City, Mexico — Amid accusations and rejections of the opposition parties, the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies has approved the creation of the National Guard for Mexico.

The vote came through with 362 in favor of, and 119 opposing its creation.

The reform proposal indicates that this new security corps will have a civil command in its administration, but military in its organization and discipline. They also indicates that they will collaborate with all states and that local police will be strengthened while all officers evaluated.

Opposition deputies requested a motion to suspend since they considered the presented opinion ignored the contributions of citizens in public hearings, and because all the legislative procedures to present were not complied with, however it was rejected.
