Loreto, Baja California — An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 was recorded at 11: 42 a.m. local time Friday in Loredo, Baja California.
The tremor was reported by the National Seismological Service (SSN) on its Twitter account.
According to first reports, no considerable damage or human injuries are expected. The SSN also ruled out issuing a tsunami warning.
Mexico’s president posted “Before the earthquake of preliminary magnitude of 5.9, occurred north of Loreto, BCS, the National Coordination of Civil Protection and local civil protection authorities activated review protocols. At the moment, there is no report of people affected or material damage, “he said.
The National Coordinator of Civil Protection, Luis Felipe Puente, published in the social network: “In communication with Civil Protection of the states of Baja California and Baja California Sur at the moment do not report affectations”.
The movement was registered in the coordinates 26.74 degrees north latitude, -111.31 west longitude and 10 kilometers deep.
