Earthquake of 4.2 hits southwest of Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur — Thousands of Cabo San Lucas residents were woken in the night with vibrations from an earthquake that hit the region just hours into the new day.

According to seismic reports from the National Seismological Service, an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude was recorded hitting the area southwest Cabo San Lucas region of Baja California Sur.

Official reports say the tremor hit at 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday, with an epic center 193 kilometers southwest of the popular seaside resort city of Cabo San Lucas.

So far, authorities have not reported any damage or injuries from the earthquake.
