San Diego, California — Retired professional baseball pitcher, Esteban Loazia, has been arrested for possession of narcotics.
According to the San Diego Country Sheriff’s Department, the ex-pro pitcher was arrested Friday in San Diego for possession of 20 kilograms of cocaine. The major leaguer and ex-husband of Mexican singer Jenni Rivera, was arrested for being found carrying 44 pounds of drugs.
The total lot of drugs discovered included cocaine and heroin. Loazia was sent to the South Bay Detention facility and had bail set for $200,000 USD. He is scheduled for a hearing February 14.
Esteban Antonio Loaiza Veyna is a retired Mexican professional baseball pitcher. During the span of his career, he played in Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers.
