Four state police killed in ambush in State of Mexico

Almoloya de Alquisiras, State of Mexico — Four members of the state police were killed after being ambushed in the town of Sexta Manzana in the municipality of Almoloya de Alquisiras.

The four officers died in an ambush by an armed group in the municipality of Almoloya de Alquisiras in the southern zone of the state. The killings were condemned by state police, who said that on Sunday afternoon, their cooworkers were caught off guard while performing a routine surveillance tour in the town of Sexta Manzana between Los Pinos and Plan de Viga.

“On Sunday, four members of the state police were ambushed during a tour in the vicinity of the municipality of Almoloya de Alquisiras. According to first investigations, the personnel of the Security Secretariat were cowardly attacked,” they said in a statement.

Secretary of Security Maribel Cervantes, said that the deaths will not go unpunished and called for an immediate investigation in coordination with the Attorney General of the State of Mexico in order to find those responsible.
