Mexican authorities arrest Mexican on America’s most wanted list

Uruapan, Michoacán — A Mexican man on American’s most wanted list by the FBI has been arrested.

The Attorney General’s Office along with the Secretariat of National Defense have arrested Eduardo N who they say is the leader of the criminal organization Barrio Azteca. They say that the leader operates out of the Midland-Odesa, Texas area was well as Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua and Michoacán.

Three others were also arrested at the same time. They have been identified as Juan A and Martín A and Raúl A, all of whom were found carrying guns, cartridges and methamphetamine.

Members of the Attorney General’s Office say that Eduardo N is on the list of the ten most wanted by the FBI who were offering a reward of $100,000 to anyone with information leading to his arrest. Eduardo N is alleged responsible for the deaths of three Americans in 2010.

He has a provisional arrest warrant for the purpose of international extradition for organized crime and illegal possession of firearms.

The criminal organization Barrio Azteca maintains close ties with other criminal groups that police say Eduardo N is responsible for coordinating and providing instructions to those in charge of arms trafficking, drug distribution, surveillance and kidnapping as well as safe houses.
