Mexican footballer Jürgen Damm Rascón suffers first degree facial burns from fireworks

Monterrery, Nuevo León — Mexican footballer Jürgen Damm Rascón suffered injuries over the holidays after a fireworks accident left him with facial burns.

“I had to learn the hard way,” was how Jürgen Damm summarized the accident he suffered on Monday, when he lit fireworks inside his house. After lighting the fireworks, one of them exploded near his face, leaving him with first degree burns.

Damm Rascón was taken to a hospital in the Valle Oriente area in San Pedro to be treated. After his treatment, the footballer took to his social media account with a photo and explanation of the events showing his damaged face and urging others not to use fireworks.

Doctors say that his burns will take about two weeks to heal. For this, he will miss the first two of his Tigers games at the Clausura 2018.

Jürgen Damm Rascón is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a winger for Liga MX club Tigres UANL and Mexico national team.
