Mexico City, Mexico — Updated: The Attorney General’s Office (PGJ) of Mexico City is investigating the disappearance of journalist Mario Antonio Cañas Luna, whose whereabouts remain unknown since February 16, however, the general attorney’s office said the Mexico City journalist has been found without incident.
In a statement, the agency announced that Cañas Luna, 40, left his home at approximately 12:00 p.m. on that Friday, which is located in the Colonia Centro, Cuauhtémoc delegation.
Police say he was last heard from around 6:20 p.m. that evening. The Center for Attention to Missing Persons is in charge of the inquiries, said the city attorney’s office.
Mario Antonio Cañas is a contributor to the radio program Fórmula Automotriz, which is broadcast on Radio Fórmula .
During 2017, 10 journalists went missing throughout the country. In January of this year, journalist José Gerardo Martínez was found deceased in a neighborhood of Mexico City.
