More than 15,000 unite for human breast cancer ribbon

Mexico City, Mexico — A large purple ribbon was lit in the city of Mexico Monday by those showing their support for breast cancer.

Every year in October, the people of Mexico pay tribute to, and show their support for the fight against breast cancer.

This year, the Lazo por México was lit by 15,000 people symbolizing the fight against breast cancer. The event took place at the Military Sports Field Mart in in Mexico City. The large human bond of purple and white was inaugurated by the President Enrique Peña Nieto.

The Mexican president thanked those in attendance and for standing together to form great ribbon as a symbol of the unity of Mexicans, their solidarity and the social effort we are called to fight against breast cancer.
