New police training school announced by Guanajuato governor

Santa Rosa de Lima, Guanajuato — The governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, has announced the construction of a training institute for the State Police.

The governor says that the new training facility, which will be based in the community of Santa Rosa de Lima, will be an investment of 120 million peso and train officers for four years. Rodríguez Vallejo explained that the new schooling facility will be used for their professional career training.

He says that area was chosen since police are already working in the region to dismantle a criminal group, referring to it as a “conflictive community”.

He added that his administration has increased the security budget by 50 percent, noting that recently, 30 people accused of terrorism have been arrested in the area.
