Mazatlan, Sinaloa – In order to provide better service to visitors, Mazatlan will have a Tourist Care and Protection Center center exclusively for people visiting the area.
The new center will perform similar to a C-4 center for central security and monitoring for Mazatlan. Joel Ernesto Soto, Secretary of Municipal Public Safety, explained that the new tourist assistance center will include Tourist Police as well as police on bicycles, motorcycles and water patrols.
Tourists to the area who find themselves in need of help will also be able to utilize the center. Soto says the tourist center will be completely outfitted with additional personnel including professionals who will offer foreigners in need such as lawyers, psychologists, public ministries, police and others who are trained for tourist care.
The new center will be located in a tourist area of Mazatlan and is set to be ready before the end of the year.
Similar Tourist Assistance Centers are already up and running in other popular destinations including Acapulco and Los Cabos.
