Northern Mexico to expect extreme temperatures

An intense wave of heat will create extreme temperatures in the northwest, north and northeast of Mexico, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

Tropical Wave 19 and a low pressure system located in the western part of the Mexican Republic will generate strong storms in Durango, Jalisco, Nayarit, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas, while in areas of Chihuahua, Sinaloa, State of Mexico, Colima, Veracruz, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo, showers are expected.

Meteorologist are warning that due to the intense heat wave, temperatures could reach between 40 to 45 degrees Celsius in areas of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa , Michoacán, Oaxaca, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.

The National Meteorological Service is recommending people in these regions exercise extreme caution and comply with the recommendations of the authorities of the National System of Civil Protection in each state.
