Augascalientes, Mexico — A policewoman has died after she fell out of the back of a patrol truck while on duty.
The incident occurred Saturday night around 8:00 p.m. when María Guadalupe Lazcano Rentería, who was part of the Special Operations Group of the Municipal Police, fell from the back of the patrol unit, suffering extensive head injuries.
The Municipal Public Security Secretariat of Aguascalientes regretted the accident that caused the death of a member, María Guadalupe. They said that she died Sunday afternoon after being in intensive care.
Guadalupe was on night patrol as part of a surveillance tour in the Pilar Blanco Division when the accident occurred. Her companions immediately took her to hospital, however she died from her injuries Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
The Secretariat of Municipal Public Security of Aguascalientes said that she was buried with honors. María Guadalupe Lazcano Rentería was 24 years old.
