PGR in Monterrey arrest ex-Guatemalan deputy listed by Interpol

Monterrey, Nuevo Leon — The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) has detained a former Guatemalan deputy accused of embezzlement. The PGR says they have arrested Luis Armando Armando Rabbe Tejeda following a request made by the Guatemalan government.

The accused, who was arrested in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon has a Red-level notice with Interpol after being requested by the First Court of Higher Risk Group to be prosecuted for the probable commission of the crimes of abuse of authority and embezzlement.

An investigation carried out by Guatemalan authorities revealed that during the time that Rabbe Tejada served as deputy of Congress of the Republic and as president of the Board of Directors of said Congress, he intervened in numerous irregularities for the hiring of personnel of that institution which facilitated the theft of public funds.
