Public transport rollover leaves 20 injured in Jalisco

Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco — A public transport bus that rolled over in the municipality of Tlajomulco has left 20 injured.

At least 20 people suffered injuries after a public transportation bus overturned in the colony Cimas del Sol. Witnesses say that the bus was traveling at excessive speed. When it reached a turn in the roadway, the bus driver lost control, overturning the bus.

The driver responsible for the accident fled the scene while the injured were treated by paramedics of Municipal Medical Services and transferred to facilities of the Cruz Verde de Tlajomulco, Las Conchas and Clinic 180.

The scene was attended by elements of Civil Protection and the Fire Department of Tlajomulco as well as the municipal police and paramedics. Police said that was the third accident with injuries in four days involving public transport units.

They said that four days ago, a bus on Route 178 hit a truck at the intersection of Medrano and 34th Street in Colonia Revolución, leaving nine injured. Two days later, a truck on Route 380 hit a compact car at the intersection of Periférico and Managua where two people died and five more were injured.
