Mexico City, Mexico — A semi trailer with a load of wood overturned early this morning in the Periférico region of the city.
The rollover was reported at 5:30 a.m. The trailer, which was transporting 22 tons of wood, partially overturned while taking a corner on the roadway. Speed is believed to be a factor since the trailer twisted at the rear, collapsing sideways while the cab remained upright.
Due to the size and weight of the trailer, a special crane had to be called to the scene to help upright the trailer then tow it. Authorities also had to wait for a second vehilce to arrive to remove the tons of wood.
The rollover, which covered two lanes of the roadway, had a large effect on morning traffic in Periférico.
