Suitcases of drugs found during passenger bus inspection on Mexican highway

Michoacán, Mexico — A routine inspection n a Mexican highway led police to the discovery of 49 kilos of marijuana.

The inspection was conducted on a passenger bus traveling through Michoacán. Federal Police say they were inspecting all the luggage when upon inspecting two suitcases, discovered the drugs.

The total found amounted to about 49 kilograms of marijuana, for which the owner of the luggage was arrested.

The National Security Commission says that “the events occurred when elements of the corporation carried out supervision and surveillance of the passenger motor carrier of the Morelia – Salamanca highway where a bus was stopped.”

They detected the two suitcases containing drugs. The owner of the suitcase attempted to run, however, he was chased down and arrested by police.
