Cancun, Q.R. — Two women have been shot and killed in Cancun that police say may have been relatives of police in a nearby town.
With high-caliber weapons, two women were murdered Tuesday morning in a home in a residential area of Cancun. The women were apparently killed because they were relatives of a policeman in Puerto Morelos.
The incident occurred at 11:50 a.m. when emergency 911 received a call that armed vehicles had arrived at a private home and began firing shots into a home.
Agents of security corporations arrived at the intersection of Paseo de Alcatraces and Calle Alcatraces in Cancun where they found the bodies of two women sitting on a sofa in the living room, both deceased.
According to reports, two girls aged two and eight, were discovered unharmed inside the home when police arrived. Both women died instantly from the gunshots.
Paramedics arrived to review the bodies.
