Two earthquakes hit the southwest of Mexico, no injures reported

Ometepec, Guerrero — An earthquake that hit outside the city of Ometepec in the state of Guerrero is reported to not have caused damage or deaths.

The 5.5 magnitude earthquake, which was recorded Monday afternoon outside Ometepc located in the far southwest of the state, was felt all the way to Mexico City. Government head Claudia Sheinbaum reported no injuries or known damage, however, emergency protocols were implemented.

The National Seismological Service reports that the epicenter of the quake was recorded 10 kilometers deep 65 kilometers southwest of Ometepec at 3:15 p.m.

The National Seismological confirmed that at 3:45 p.m., a second earthquake with an epicenter in Pinotepa Nacional with a magnitude of 4.8 was also registered.

So far, authorities of the National Seismological Service have not reported damages or victims.
